North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology NERIST Entrance Exam (NEE) 2009

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology conducts a NEE- 2009 for all eligible candidate who want to take admission in Base (Certificate), Diploma and Degree Modules at NERIST in the Technology/ Engineering and Forestry streams. The Entrance examinations NEE-II & NEE-III will be held on 25th April, 2009 (Saturday) and NEE-I on 26th April, (Sunday).

Eligibility for NEE I 2009:

Age
19 years (24 years for SC/ST/PH and 22 years for OBC and female candidates) as on 1st August, 2009

Eligibility criteria
(i) The candidate should have passed metric or Class-X examination of 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics. The candidate should have passed in Science and Mathematics respectively.
(ii) Candidates appearing in the above mentioned examination, but whose results are awaited may also appear in the NERIST Entrance Examination.
(iii) A certificate to this effect is to be obtained from the Principal of the school and must be attached with the application. In case, such a candidate is selected, he/she must produce the original pass certificate and marks sheet at the time of his/her admission. Otherwise, his/her admission will automatically get cancelled.

Eligibility for NEE II 2009:

(a) Age
23 years (28 years for SC/ST/PH and 26 years for OBC and female candidates) as on 1st August , 2009.

(b) Eligibility criteria:
(i) For Engineering and Technology Stream
(i) The candidate should have passed 10+2 PCM/ PCMB, 10+2 Vocational in Electronics/ Farm Machinery & Equipment / Electrical / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning / Automobile Technology/ Structure & Fabrication Technology/ Computer Science OR NERIST Certificate (E&T). Candidates with 10+2 (Vocational)/ NERIST certificate holders are eligible for admission in Computer Science and Engineering or in their respective branches.
(ii) 10+2 PCM/PCMB candidate should have passed in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics separately.

Eligibility for Forestry stream
(i) The candidate should have passed 10+2 PCB/PCMB, 10+2 (vocational in Forestry/ Horticulture) or NERIST Certificate (Forestry).
(ii) The candidate should have passed 10+2 PCB/PCMB candidates should have passed in Physics, Chemistry & Biology separately. Candidates appearing in the above mentioned examination, whose results are awaited, may also appear in the Entrance Examination. A certificate to this effect is to be obtained from the Principal of the school/ college and must be attached with the application. In case such a candidate is selected, he/she must produce the original pass certificate and marks sheet at the time of his/her admission. Otherwise, his/her admission will automatically get cancelled.

How to apply
Application Form cum Information Brochure can be obtained from Main post offices located at district head quarters of all eight north eastern states and also from the GPO located at North Bengal, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Lucknow and New Delhi w.e.f. 01-12-2008 to 30-01-2009 @ Rs.100/- per form. Alternatively forms may also be obtained from the Directorate of Higher/Technical Education of all N.E.states between same period and same cost as stated above. Application form cum information brochure can also be down loaded from NERIST website: www.nerist.ac.in. by adding Rs.100/- extra along with requisite examination fee.

Reservation of Seats
80% Total Seat
10% each to the eight N.E.states;
10% seats to All India other than N.E.region;
7% seats on merit basis for PRC from N.E states and
3% seats for PH with
40-75% locomotor disability.

Eligibility Criteria
(i) The Candidate must have Indian Nationality or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission.

Eligibility Medical/Agriculture/Veterinary Courses:
(i) Candidates should have passed 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology

(ii) Those students who aspire to take admission to MBBS/BDS courses should acquire 50% marks in the Medical Entrance Examination

Eligibility for BSc. Degree holders
Who Student aspire BSc. Degree, for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS Courses, should have obtained their BSc. Degree with one of the subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Bio-Chemistry with 50% marks

Eligibility for Engineering Courses
Candidate Should have passed 10+2 with 50% marks at least in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Bio-technology/ Computer Science/Biology put together are eligible for admission.

Eligibility for Architecture Course

(i) The Candidate must passed 10+2 from any Recognized University with 50% mark at least in Mathematics.
(ii) Candidates who have passed 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks / Candidates with International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination are eligible to apply

KEAM 2009 Age
The candidate should complete 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2009.

Schedule for the Entrance Examinations:
KEAM 2009 Exam will be held at all the District Centres in Kerala, New Delhi and Dubai (UAE), on the dates mentioned below as per Indian Standard Time (IST)

How to Apply
(i) The Application Forms can be Obtain by Cash or By Bank draft Rs. 700/- (Rs. 350.SC/ST ) dawn in favour of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, and payable at Thiruvananthapuram. If the candidate is applying only for the Aptitude Test in Architecture no additional remittance is required.

(ii) Application forms also available in Canara Bank branches selected as sales centres is appended separately
