The conflict between the Council of Architecture (CoA) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development over the authority on admissions into Architecture colleges is snowballing into a major controversy even as the admissions in the State are set to begin on August 27.

The CoA has frozen admissions in three of the seven Architecture colleges in the State citing the reason that they had not facilitated inspection for the courses for 2007-2008.

These colleges include School of Planning & Architecture, JNTU, Hyderabad; School of Architecture of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and the Sri Venkateshwara College of Architecture, Hyderabad.

Selection Method

Keeping in view the DGS guidelines, PRIME adopts the following method of selection in a phased manner.

Phase I

Filled-in Application Form: Duly completed application forms received by the due date shall be scrutinized for the following.

Percentile of Marks obtained in 10th for min. 50% of English and in 12th for min. of 60%.

Phase II

Based on the no. of short-listed applicants in Phase I, the applicants may be required to appear in an Entrance Examination held on All-India basis conducted by the MI in co-ordination with the affiliating University.

Phase III

Successful candidates in the written examination are required to attend Group Discussion held by the MI.

Phase IV

Followed by Counseling / Interview - Test on Aptitude and IQ

Phase V

Shall be required to undergo a thorough Physical Fitness and Medical Examination, conducted by DGS approved Doctor.

Phase VI

Enrollment / Induction process of successful candidates.
