Chennai: The Teachers Recruitment Board has announced a written competitive examination to fill 659 posts of postgraduate assistants for Government Higher Secondary Schools on September 17 at all district headquarters.

Candidates should be an MA, M. Sc or M. Com in the relevant subject along with B. Ed and must have studied the same subject in Bachelors and Masters degree both for academic subjects and languages.

Application forms can be obtained from the offices of chief educational officers at all districts on a cash payment of Rs.100

Bed Not An Eligibility Criterion For Primary Teachers: High Court

The Delhi High Court has held that for candidates applying for primary teacher's job, bachelor of education (BEd) degree will no longer be an eligibility criterion. However, the candidates will have to undergo a specialised training programme.
