The All-India Council for Technical Education, which regulates professional institutes, has decided to reduce student intake in colleges, which does not have adequate faculty members. Out of the total 38,101 seats slashed this year, 25,335 are in engineering, 8,229 in MCA, 3,016 in MBA and post-graduate diploma in business management (PGDBM) and 1,521 in pharmacy courses, The all-India student intake for engineering (in AICTE-approved institutes) is going to be 4,52,260 this year against the 4,77,595 seats sanctioned last year. The Delhi CBSE Class X result is a bit of a mixed bag. The pass percentage, at 60.84%, is up by 1.09% from the last year. Boys' pass percentage is just 3.1% behind girls'.
